Palisades at Paces Mill

There are 3 main trails near where I work called, the East Palisades, West Palisades and Palisades. I have walked the East and West so today I walked the Palisades along the Chattahoochee River. There is a hard trail for the first half mile then the main trail veers and a dirt trail continues to follow the river. The main trail is busy so there is not a lot of wildlife action but the dirt trail is seldom used.

There were a few Pine Warblers around, moving from tree to tree in search of insects.

This Cedar Waxwing was playing peek-a-boo and would not come out from behind this branch. He took off before I could get a full body photo.

This guy perched and sat for a few minutes letting get a good shot of him.

Eastern Bluebird

I must have seen between 6-7 Great Blue Herons along the river.

Great Blue Heron

I watched this one fly along the river and then up to the top of a dead pine tree and I noticed a nest in the next pine. Not sure if the nest was active but it may be a good sign.
