Sunday Stroll

Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher

We decided to take an early morning Sunday stroll at the Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve with our granddaughter. When we arrived, there was a couple at the look-out station who pointed out some gnatcatchers nearby. The gnatcatchers were very active, moving from branch to branch as they caught their breakfast.

Red-Shouldered Hawk

I know the background is cluttered but it shows the full spread of his wings. Normally you only see shots from the front so I decided to show this one anyway.

Sunlight poking among the trees

As I was walking along, looking up for birds, I noticed this view and thought it was worthy of a moment.

Sun-lite spider web

Almost ran into this web on the side of the trail.

American Cardinal

This guy landed nearby to investigate us. Very nice detail on his beak.
